More than 100 human rights orgs condemned Turkish attacks

The Administrative Body of the Syrian Federation for Human Rights issued a statement signed by more than 100 human rights and civil society organizations in Syria, condemning what it called "violations of Turkish aggression" in reference to the Turkish attacks against northern Syria on October 28.

The statement of the 100 organizations included detailed statistics on the physical and human damages caused by the Turkish attacks. The statement also said that this aggression is considered a crime against humanity and that it rises to the levels of criminal crimes, whose perpetrators must be punished, and call on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards all attacks, massacres and crimes.

Condemning and denouncing the continuing Turkish attacks on Syrian territory

We, in the Syrian human rights and civil organizations, are still deeply concerned, we receive reports of continued violations by the Turkish forces aggression against the Syrian sovereignty and the flagrant and continuing attacks on Syrian territory and on Syrian citizens and their homes and livelihoods. Since 28 October 2018, tanks, artillery and machine guns of the Turkish occupation army forces bombard cities, villages and neighborhoods in northern and eastern Syria, targeting civilians, women and children, but these attacks come with the decline of wars and the decline of its squares in Syria

Cherishing hopes approaching to achieve peaceful solutions to end the sporadic wars across Syria, in addition to the remarkable development and escalation of successive successes in northern Syria, the liberation of vast areas of Syrian territory from the control of the IS terrorist organization and the siege of Syria's Democratic Forces to its last strongholds. The Turkish attacks on houses, neighborhoods, villages and cities: Kobanî "Ain Al Arab" and "Girê Spî" "Tal Abyad" coincide with the fourth anniversary of the World Solidarity Day for the Resistance of Kobanî and its liberation from the control of the so-called "Islamic State Organization (IS)”, while the attacks on the eastern Euphrates areas targeting all components of the Syrian people living, from the Assyrians, Syriac, Turkmen, Arabs and Kurds. These attacks and Turkish aggressive practices have been accompanied by silence, media and international complicity, although the Turkish attacks openly violate all international conventions and laws.

The Turkish army continued its flagrant assaults on Syrian territory and Syrian civilians for more than a week, and using various types of heavy weapons, artillery and missiles, resulted in a number of civilian casualties, as well as damage to private and public property, crops and agricultural land.

We are in the Syrian civil and civil organizations, as we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims who have martyred as a result of the continuous aggression perpetrated against our people in Ain Al Arab and its countryside and in Girê Spî and its countryside and in Qamishlo countryside. As well as the condemnation of all acts of aggression against Syrian sovereignty, the Syrian territory and the Syrian citizens. We note that the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of another state under the international conventions and treaties contained in the text of the Charter of the United Nations, which confirmed in many of the General Assembly of the United Nations resolutions.

We consider this continuing Turkish aggression to be a continuation of the dilemma of bloody violence and murders committed against all Syrian citizens. We reaffirm our legitimate fears for the Syrian citizens who are victims of conflicts and catastrophic wars and the settling of international accounts on the Syrian territory and the precious price paid by the blood.

We call on all international and regional organizations and governmental and non-governmental bodies to stand up to their historical responsibilities in the face of events in Syria, which are now in the midst of multiple wars on their soil, especially in the north and east of Syria. The Turkish aggression is threatening the civil peace and community safety. This deterioration will not harm Syria alone, but all the peoples and countries of the Middle East.

We call on the international community to call for action and serious and speedy action to put an end to this Turkish aggression described on Syrian soil as a violation of Syrian sovereignty and to undermine the efforts of existing political solutions and efforts to combat terrorism in Syria. Based on the Charter of the United Nations and international and international humanitarian law, we call for serious action for a binding international resolution.
