Due to siege, people losing their basic needs

The bazaar of Burj al-Qas village was a destination for all the villagers before the occupation of Afrin canton by the Turkish army and its mercenaries as dozens of vendors were selling their goods in the bazaar. Today, and due to the siege, there are only two sellers in the bazaar, and the market did not meet the needs of the people.

Before occupying Afrin canton by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries, 25 salesmen used to go to the village of Burj al-Qas in Şêrawa district every Monday to sell various types of goods to the people. The weekly market, or the so-called "bazaar", used to insure all the household items, necessities of life and clothes.

After Afrin canton was occupied by the Turkish occupation army, a siege has been imposed on 6 villages affiliated to Şêrawa district, including the village of Burj al-Qas. On the other hand, the regime forces also imposed a siege on these villages, affecting the weekly bazaar, where there are now only sellers from Nubul and al-Zahra area, and the market does not meet the needs and the basic requirements of the people.

The citizen Aisha Jamil from Burj al-Qas village said, "There were dozens of vendors at the bazaar and the market used to meet all our requirements, but after the occupation of Afrin and the imposition of the siege on our village, there is nothing left but two sellers come every Monday. They do not have all the necessary goods, and we cannot secure our basic needs."
