SDF stopped "battle to defeat terrorism" temporarily because of Turkish attacks

SDF have announced the suspension of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign against IS in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor because of the recent Turkish attacks on northern Syria, describing these attacks as direct support provided by the Turkish state to IS, which came in direct coordination with it and coincided with the counter-attacks of IS which were launched on Hajin areas recently.

"The Turkish state stepped up its threats and attacks on the border against northern Syria after the statements of its President Recap Tayyip Erdogan, which followed the quartet meeting in Istanbul in the presence of the presidents of Russia, France, Germany and Turkey, where Turkish Special Forces launched six attacks against safe villages and populated areas along the border, which resulted in the martyrdom of a fighter of Self-Defense Duty and wounding other, and the damage to civilian property and forcing them to leave their homes in the targeted areas.

Turkish attacks continued on the evening of 30/10/2018 which targeted the crossing of Girê Spî city border, and one of the guards of the crossing martyred and another injured.

We in SDF consider these attacks to be direct support provided by the Turkish state to reorganize IS and came in direct coordination with it and coincided with the reverse attacks carried out by IS on Hajin area recently. We also inform the world public that this direct coordination between the attacks of the Turkish army In the north and the attacks of IS in the south against our forces which have stopped the "battle to defeat terrorism" temporarily, which our forces were fighting in the last strongholds of the terrorist organization, and the continuation of these attacks will cause a long-term suspension of our military campaign against IS.

We in the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) and at the time we confirm our full readiness to repel any external attack, including the attacks of the Turkish state that target the security and stability of our regions. We call upon the international community to denounce the provocations of the Turkish state against the only safe areas in Syria, to show a firm position to deter Turkey from these attacks and its attempts to maintain IS organization and support it, which runs counter to the strategy of our partners in the International Coalition to eliminate terrorism. "
