SDF reveal outcome of "Battle to defeat terrorism" over past two weeks

Media Center of Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement to the public opinion revealed the outcome of the clashes in the Battle to defeat terrorism for the past two weeks, where the statement pointed out that IS mercenaries took advantage of dust storms and launched attacks against the forces with all types of weapons, and the statement confirmed that their forces were able to repel these attacks.

The text of the statement:

"the terrorist organization had taken advantage during the past 15 days of the dust storms that exposed the area to launch surprise attacks on our forces, and on all axes of combat in the front, using all kinds of heavy and light armored vehicles and bombs and suicide bombers with explosive belts weapons, the terrorists were able to control some points, through the attack on a number of car bombs and suicide bombers, while the town of al-Sousa had witnessed very fierce battles, the terrorists penetrated in some of its neighborhoods, but the clashes continued in fierce way, and these neighborhoods remained areas of attack and retreat between our forces and terrorists, the terrorist organization was not able to impose its control on them.

Despite the ferocity of the attacks and battles, our fighters have confronted them and forced the terrorists to retreat in many axes and inflict heavy losses on lives and equipment.

In al-Bagouz axis, the terrorist organization launched a three-pronged attack in the early hours of the morning, and violent clashes between our fighters and terrorists of ISIS continued until the afternoon. The terrorists tried to detonate four car bombs among our forces, one of which was a large truck carrying large quantities of explosives, but our fighters managed to detonate them all before reaching their targets.

During the clashes, more than 36 terrorists were killed, their corpses are still lying on the battlefield.

On the other hand, our fighters had bombed two cars carrying Aldoshka weapons and two others of the type (Hummer), by targeting them with a weapon of (RPG), during violent clashes that killed 43 terrorists, the corpses of 20 of them took place in the hands of our fighters.

During the afternoon, the terrorist organization launched another car bomb attack to avenge its loss. The terrorists tried to break our lines by sending a car bomb, which our fighters were able to detonate, far from their points.

A number of terrorists tried to circumvent our fighters, but the vigilance of our fighters foiled the attack and strong clashes had sparked, in which a large number of terrorists were killed, while the others fled.

Final Outcome of Clashes:

- The terrorist deaths number: 79 / Terrorist.

- International Alliance Air strikes: 18 / Airstrike.

- Number of rockets fired at terrorist positions and fortifications: 8 rockets.

- Terrorist losses: 5 car bombs, 2 Hummer vehicles destroyed, 3 cars carrying Dushka weapons, 18 buildings in which terrorists were hided in.

- The number of our martyrs: 21 / martyrs, and a number of wounded. "
