Walid al-Ghobari: Turkey procrastinates on Idlib issue

This came during an interview conducted by ANHA agency with the member of the Office of Diplomatic Relations in Afrin region Walid al-Ghobari in light of the events taking place in Idlib.

Al-Ghobari said that all the mercenary factions in Syria have gathered in this region in addition to the presence of Jabhet al-Nusra which is classified on the global terrorism list.

On the subject of the agreement that took place between Turkey and Russia in Sochi, al-Ghobari said that Turkey was unable to implement any of the terms of the agreement, adding, "Turkey procrastinates over this matter and delays the deadline for disarmament and the departure of the mercenary factions. We have not seen so far steps that show disarmament of weapon or the departure of the mercenary factions."

Al-Ghobari said that the drums of war are knocking in Idlib, referring to the fact that the end of Idlib issue is a war. In my opinion, there is no solution in Idlib except for a military solution. If all the countries involved in the Syrian crisis do not agree, we will not see a solution in Idlib.

Al-Ghobari said that the war’s drums are knocking in Idlib as they are knocking between Russia and America on the issue of nuclear disarmament. Whenever the countries reach solutions, Russia and America come up with issues and deals to prolong the crisis or war.

As for Jabhet al-Nusra matter, al-Ghobari noted that Turkey claimed during the agreements that it would eliminate Jabhet al-Nusra, but it has not done anything yet. On the contrary, Jabhet al-Nusra’s power has increased in Idlib and it has been more fortified"

Al-Ghobari said, "Turkey procrastinates on the issue of Idlib to seek for a different exit, while Russia even if it showed that it is compatible with Turkey, there are topics that have not been announced yet."

At the end of his speech, al-Ghobari called to stop shedding the blood of the Syrian people, and added, "Every country has a dispute with another one. It comes to settle accounts on the Syrian territory. We say enough."
