This came during an interview conducted by ANHA with the co-chair of the Autonomous Administration in the North and East Syria Siham Qariou in conjunction with the announcement of the UN envoy to Syria, Stefan de Mistura his resignation and the preparations for the appointment of a new successor.

At the beginning of her speech, Siham stressed the need to involve all components of the northern and eastern Syria which are considered an important part in the political process and participate in the drafting of a new constitution for Syria.

Siham added, "The world must be aware of the role of SDF consisted of all the components of northern and eastern Syria and the liberation of more than 30 percent of the Syrian lands that was occupied by IS mercenaries."

She noted, "The Turkish state wants to marginalize the prominent and important role played by the Democratic Autonomous Administrations and their political cover represented by the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD)."

Siham condemned the unjustified international silence over the Turkish occupation of Afrin canton and the brutal and barbaric violations practiced against the citizens there."

She added, "The Turkish occupation of Afrin is a violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian territories. The economic, military and political interests among the regional and global countries justify the silence towards these violations whose price is paid by the Syrian people."
