Afrin camp .. Services provided according to available resources

The people of Afrin, were forced out of their homes on March 18, to al-Shahba canton after the Turkish aggression.

The people of Afrin, who have left their homes, are now resisting in al-Shahba canton, with the aim of returning to their homes and retrieving their property, which was looted by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Afrin camp is one of the camps which is inhabited by the people of Afrin, along with Serdem, Berxwedan  and al-Shahba camps. There are 100 tents in Afrin camp inhabited by dozens of families .

The camp is located in Marata Muslemiya village and al-Ahdath district, and was opened after the violations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on Afrin and the fleeing of the people to al-Shahba, where the camps of Serdem, Berxwedan and al-Shahba cannot accommodate the coming families.

According to the administration of the camp, the people formed their own communes and organized themselves within the camp, after the experiments they had experienced in Afrin over the past 6 years, with regard to the communes.

The camp administration provided a quantity of concrete bricks and a quantity of cement, with the aim of fencing the tents and repairing their floors.

This step comes to face storms and rains that may come in the winter. Last  March, April months witnessed rain and storms, and the tents were submerged with the water.

An administrator in the camp, Fri Oso said that they have provided water and electricity for the people within the camp by operating a generator and placing tanks of water there as well as distributing monthly relief stuff through the communes formed within the camp.”

Fri Oso said at the end of his speech that the lack of medicines in the area, makes the health situation in the camp worse, and added, "but we are coordinating with the Kurdish Red Crescent, and we provide the available medicines to our people."
