North, east Syria's universities improved educational process

In the light of the recent developments in the administrative level in the region, and after the Autonomous Administration of north and east Syria, various institutions are restructuring and organizing themselves, including the educational field, especially higher education and academic education within unified frameworks and laws that unify all laws and educational bases.

The purpose of holding the conference is to unify laws and educational frameworks in universities

In a move considered the first of its kind in order to unify the laws and educational frameworks within universities in the north and east of Syria ,the first conference of the Autonomous Administration universities of north and east Syria was held on October19-20 with the participation of administrators, students, academicians, intellectuals and university professors.

During the conference, discussions were held on how to develop universities, in addition to proposals to strengthen relations between the universities in the geography of north and east Syria and the universities of regional and international countries. In order to unify the laws of these universities, the attendees ratified on a new administrative system for all universities in north and east Syria.

The new administrative system aims to build an organized student

According to Mohamed Rashid, a member of the preparatory committee of the universities of north and east Syria, the conference was held to organize all universities within the educational body of Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria. He pointed out that the new administrative system aims to establish a free organized student so that he/she can practice work in a free and democratic life, and not to face difficulties, especially in light of the circumstances experienced by Syria and the Syrian north in particular.

The administrative system aims at clarifying the foundations of work in universities, institutes and institutions of higher education of Autonomous Administration in north and east Syria, and to clarify the internal affairs, management system, working mechanism and communication between the university's units and institutions.

The administration will be serialized

The University is run sequentially from top to bottom by the council, the Coordination Council and the Administrative Bodies of the University, each acting in accordance with the duties and objectives of the University administration at various levels.

The University Council is the foundation of the administration and is considered the administrative umbrella of each university. It includes all the components of the university and administers the university democratically. It is the representative of the university. The council consists of two representatives of the students: the joint presidency of each faculty and institute and their representatives, the archive media, finance "and the joint presidency of the university and their deputies.

The General Conference is held every two years

 The Council works to implement and follow up decisions taken at the University's General Conference, which is held every two years, and the decisions on new and emergency situations are taken up until the conference is held, following up on the implementation of the program and the administrative system of the university, making suggestions to the coordination regarding new and emergent problems, ratifying the annual plans of the university , and elect the disciplinary body.

Organizationally, the council meets once a month, during which monthly reports and completed work are evaluated.

General Coordination follows the application of plans and decisions

The General Coordination of the University works on weekly meetings and follows up the mechanism of applying the plans and decisions taken at the University Council. It discusses the problems related to education in the university in terms of level and content and proposes solutions and policies that will raise the level of education in the university and develop it, and elect the academic body, which organizes the internal training courses for the administration, the teachers and all the staff at the university, organizes the inter-faculties relations, approves the financial needs and submits them to the Administrative Body. It organizes scientific seminars, lectures and various activities at the university.

The Administrative Body of the university is a third administrative body after the university council and the general coordination.

The Administrative Body of the university have great administrative responsibilities: "Follow-up on the mechanism of applying the decisions of the coordination and applying them to follow up the work of the academic committee. The proposals concerning the opening of new branches and faculties must be considered by the administrative body of the college. The decisions taken by the Discipline Committee against the administration, teachers and employees of the university.

Reorganizing the administrative structure of faculties

The faculties are not absent from the reorganization of their administrative structure within this administrative system and have been reorganized and accredited in the administration of each faculty on the administrative body of the college, as the administrative body of the college is responsible for the administration of the college and all departments and offices proceeding from it. The joint presidency of the college consists of a man, and spokespersons of departments, and each college elects the required number of deputies according to need and according to the number of students.

The Administrative Body of the college is responsible for a set of administrative duties and tasks to achieve the system specified in its rules of procedure, namely, holding weekly meetings for students.,

On the internal level of each university, the new administrative system of the universities of north and east Syria provides several sections related to each university, which manages the university internally, including the Academic Body, the follow-up Committee for the educational process, students affairs, the divan, archives, media, and the finance In this dossier, we will describe the mechanism of work and the duties of each of them separately.

Academic Body The

The Academic Body of each university is composed of persons with sufficient experience in scientific fields. It is responsible for the preparation, development and follow-up of the curriculum. It conducts scientific research and studies that develop the educational process and considers the applications submitted by students regarding the transfer between universities.

The Follow-up Body

The second body within each university is the Follow-up Body for the education process. It is concerned with examining the application of the curriculum, the evaluation system, the teaching methods and among the teachers within the faculty.

Other bodies operating under the umbrella of the university administration are the Student Affairs and Archives Section, responsible for all students.

The Information Body within each university is important to reflect the reality and the activities of these universities, so it was important to form it.

In order to fulfill the requirements of each university, the Finance Body, which is one of the offices of any university, is responsible to the administrative body of the university. It works to provide salaries to the university's teachers and all workers. It receives the necessary funds for all projects at the university and colleges.
