Meeting with Ocalan was turning point for them

The leader of the Kurdish people, Abdullah Ocalan, had always traveled between Lebanon and Syria in the nineties of the last century, during which he met with many of people and invited  them to struggle  for the homeland liberation.

The citizen Hamid Ismail from Adama village in Afrin met Ocalan in 1997 in Aleppo city. While Mustapha Abedo from Rajo area of Afrin, his great passion impelled him to travel to Lebanon to meet Ocalan, and met him in 1992.

ANHA agency met with citizens and held two meetings with them, stressing that their meeting with Ocalan was the beginning of their struggle for the protection and liberation of the homeland.

Ocalan is the doctor

The citizen Hamid Ismail said that before his meeting with Ocalan, he had no information or knowledge of how to organize himself, he added ," when I met the leader, he explained to me the importance of the struggle for the liberation of the country. This meeting was a starting point for my struggle where I worked in Aleppo for 15 years.

On the other hand, Ismail said that Ocalan talked to them about his book "The Resurrection Stage" , and continued after the leader held a meeting with us, we spoke to him about our demands, we stressed that we wanted to liberate Kurdistan, then he talked to us about his book, which highlighted what the Kurdish people have suffered and the bitter reality it is living through, from denial and disintegration, as he explained in his book the policies of the enemy against the Kurdish people which goal is to melt our culture."

Ismail described Ocalan as doctor, and added ,"the leader was like a doctor, he was  looking for the disease of society in the Middle East, and he diagnosed the disease and put  forward the democratic nation's project as medicine which aims to get Middle Eastern societies out of the quagmire of problems and crises."

The leader  added," You are waiting for me to liberate Kurdistan, but I am like you. You only need to step up the struggle for the cause, you have to confront the enemy and not let it reach its goals."

His passion impelled him to travel to Lebanon and meet with Ocalan

The citizen Mustafa Abedo, whose passion impelled him to travel to Lebanon to meet Ocalan said that his passion for the struggle increased after he met Ocalan, and continued I met him in 1992, when I listened to him, my passion for the struggle and for the Kurdistan Freedom Movement grew, and from there I began my struggle."

The meeting with the leader is enough to tell you how ignorant the occupiers' policy of smelting and denial was. The leader told us during a meeting that they are  following the criticism and self- criticism concept in their struggle, because criticism shows the shortcomings to be avoided.

Abedo said that Ocalan told them whenever we increase our strength, whenever  we  achieve our gains and  our enemies would increase, and plot against us,  and what the leader was exposed in 1999 was a proof of that."

Abedo recounted the speech of the leader with him and said," When they fail to achieve their goals, the enemies will try to get closer to you, to know your weaknesses and to eliminate you. We really see that a number of countries show their sympathy for the Kurdish people, but in fact they are looking for an opportunity to eliminate us and attacking Afrin was a proof of that."

Mustafa Abedo said at the end of his speech that their exit is not a weak, but to reorganize ourselves and come back strongly, we will free Afrin at all costs."
