The Popular Defense Forces (HPG) pointed out in a statement that their forces killed 4 elements of the Turkish Intelligence during the clashes broke out between them and Turkish occupation in Lecê and that a fighter was martyred.

The media center of HPG issued a statement about the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation army on the villages of Lecê area in Amed state in Bakur (North Kurdistan).

The statement included, “In September 26, the Turkish occupation army launched an attack on Abi Musa Square that is located between Lecê and Hînê districts. During these attacks, units related to the Turkish occupation army stationed in the area. On October 2 between 01:30 am till October 3 dawn, the Turkish occupation army bombarded the area with helicopters. After the bombardment, the Turkish occupation army’s aircrafts started an airborne operation for the Turkish soldiers in the area, and that resulted in breaking out strong clashes between our forces and the Turkish occupation army. During the clashes, one of our fighters who repelled the enemy bravely martyred.”

The statement continued, “On October 5 at 15:30, our fighters targeted a military vehicle of the Turkish Intelligence in ​​Abi Musa area. During the operation, an official and three Turkish Intelligence agents were killed. After the operation, Cobra aircrafts bombed the area several times. Then, the enemy transported the killed from the area via the hovercrafts.

After the bombardment and on October 4, in coordination between the administration of Amed Governorate and the 7th Military Command, a curfew was imposed on 65 villages in Lecê and Hînê districts. The Turkish occupation army launched an attack on the area with a large number of elements of Special Units and the Villages’ Protectors.

On October 10, a section of the Turkish occupation army withdrew from the area, but another section stayed hidden in the area and ambush every now and then.

On October 15, the Turkish occupation army attacked again several villages of Lecê and Hînê districts. The elements of the occupation army tortured the residents, put pressure on them and practiced violations against them. The objective of the Turkish occupation of these practices is to put pressure on the people to leave their homes and villages by intimidating them.”
