Afram Issaq elected as Qamişlo co-chair

Qamişlo Canton Council elected Afram Issaq as a co-chair for the canton during a meeting held in the council’s headquarters in the city.

QAMIŞLO

After the second stage of the Democratic North-Syria Federation’s elections in the end of 2017, each of Perwin Mohammed and Nejeeb Khuri were elected as co-chairs of Qamişlo canton’s council. After a period, Najeeb Khuri tendered his resignation. Under that, Qamişlo canton’s council held on Thursday a meeting in the office of the canton in Qamişlo city to elect another co-chair for the canton’s council.

The members of the council and committees of Qamişlo canton, the co-chair of the council Perwin Mohammed and the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in al-Jazeera region Abdul Karim Serokhan attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Afram Issaq from the Syriac component was elected as a co-chair for Qamislo canton’s council. After he was elected, Issaq swore the oath before the attendees and pledged to assume his responsibility serving the people.
