Turkey plundering our life-long efforts by stealing olive season'

The Turkish occupation army, after its occupation of the city, destroyed the culture and customs of the area and corrupting the nature of the city: cutting, burning and destroying the olive trees that were the main source of livelihood for the people. The women in Afrin had great credit for the continuation of these trees of giving as they are free to take care of them.

The women of Afrin living in al-Shahba after the forced displacement, expressed their discontent with the practices of the Turkish occupation, which aims to break the will of women by destroying the nature of the area, where it came to the occupation to loot the olive season.

Olive trees were our source of livelihood and the future of our children

Mother Nazifa Shahein, a 70-year-old resident of Kobaka village in Mobata district, says she spent her life caring for olive trees and paid everything she could to buy the largest possible share to secure her children's future.

She pointed out that she is currently living difficult days because of the practices of the Turkish occupation, which loot and steal the life-long efforts of women who spent their lives caring for olive trees.

"We are the owners of the land and we will return"

Mother Salha Mohammed, a resident of Khoziona village of Mobata district said, "My husband and I lived in the village on our own, and each year, after giving a lot of physical effort, we harvested the olives season and took advantage of it by providing food and preparing various types of olives, in addition to the selling of the oil to secure our livelihood but the Turkish occupation has deprived us of our property."

She denounced the plundering of their efforts by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, saying, "We are the owners of the land who pay the precious and good in order to benefit and develop it, but the Turkish occupation is now looting our efforts."

Mother Amina Sido, in turn, denounced these acts and stressed that the goal of the Turkish occupation is to destroy the property of the area and culture of its people.

It should be noted that more than 8,000 olive trees were uprooted throughout the geography of Afrin.
