Ocalan ideas exceeded prison limits, transcended time and space

Three years ago, the government of Justice (AKP) denied his family and lawyer from visiting him in Imrali prison under fake pretexts, the last decision was the decision of the Turkish Public Prosecutor's Office in Bursa state to prevent all Imrali prisoners from meeting with their lawyers for six months.

In this context, Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with lawyer and human rights activist Mohamed Jamil, pointing that Ocelan's ideas was a guiding light for oppressed peoples, "Ocelan was not only a leader for the Kurdish people, but a leader and a mentor of oppressed peoples, those peoples that have suffered and they are still suffering of persecution and injustice."

On the conditions of strict isolation imposed by the Turkish state, lawyer Mohamed Jamil noted that the severe isolation is a continuation of the Turkish state's efforts to keep the people away from the renewed thought and intellectual resurgence of Ocelan's ideas on the progress of society and radical change in the intellectual structure.

He said "The harsh conditions of detention and the prison walls did not prevent the leader from completing his historical role being historical personal who managed to cross the boundaries of the dark prison in Imrali and transcend the limits of time and place," he said.

Isolation imposed do not accord with international, humanitarian laws

Lawyer and human rights activist Mohammed Jamil said in his speech about the conditions of Ocalan's arrest and the imposition of isolation inside the prison. He said that this action is contrary to international and humanitarian laws and contrary to all human rights charters. "Turkey has ratified on the European Convention on Human Rights, so they must abide by the decisions of the Human Rights Court," he said.

"Silence means the continuity of isolation and the silence of the people calling for freedom," Mohammed Jamil told the international and humanitarian community.

Mohammed Jamil appealed to human rights organizations and the international and humanitarian community to do their duty to lift the isolation of the leader of the  Kurdish people Abdullah Ocelan and release him.
