Germany decided to stop drones’ flight over Iraq, Syria next year

According to a document, the German government decided to stop next year reconnaissance missions and the task of refueling in the air which come in the context of the operations against IS.

Reuters agency considered a document that stated that the German government decided on Tuesday to suspend its surveillance and refueling in the air tasks next year that come within operations led by the US against IS in Iraq and Syria.

The document stated that the German Air Forces would cease its flights by October 31 2019.

The document showed that the German government had not set a deadline for the termination of the German troops' mission to train the Iraqi army’s members, but it is scheduled to be reviewed in April 30.

The US aircrafts engaged in the reconnaissance and refueling missions are stationed now at the Blue Air Base in Jordan.

The German Defense Minister Ursula von der Lien said last month during a visit to al-Qaeda that she did not rule out a longer-term deployment of the troops in the Middle East amid broader debate over Germany's role in a possible military action in Syria.
