Concept of HPC consolidated in newly liberated areas

Since the beginning of Rojava Revolution on July 19, 2012, the Society Protection Forces (HPC) were established in the north of Syria from the neighborhoods and cities’ residents in the north of Syria who took up arms voluntarily, to protect the region and its internal security as well as the Asayiş forces, in maintaining the security and stability of the region and contributed to the liberation of many areas of the northern Syria of "terrorism."  

They are forces affiliated to the Democratic Society Movement, under the decisions of the 3rd Conference of the movement held on August 27, these forces will continue to belong to the movement and will continue to exercise their functions according to the requirements of the area.

Most of HPC's members are members of the Protection Committee within the communes. They have many tasks, including maintaining the security and stability of the geographical area under their control, and protecting the society from cells stationed between civilians. The members range from 4 to 15 members in each nighberhood, and the method of joining is open to all because the responsibility for security concerns all individuals in the village or neighborhood.

The armed factions tried to divide the peoples of the area

During the presence of the armed factions of IS, they tried by various means to stir up seditions and discrimination among the peoples and components of the area.

HPC managed to make the people steadfast in the face of these factions, and the largest evidence to improve the living conditions of the people and provide security and stability, including Tal al-Ahmadi town, which belongs to Tal Berak.

HPC participated in the liberation of several areas

When we enter the newly liberated villages, including Tal al-Ahmir town, we notice the spread of the HPC at the entrances and exits of the town and its streets, in order to maintain the security and stability of the town and prevent the entry of strangers to it.

The administrator in HPC Ali Khalef al-Husien in Tal al-Ahmadi town said that the establishment of the HPC contributed to the liberation and protection of the villages from the mercenaries and "terrorist" cells left by these mercenaries.

"The tasks of our youth are not limited to the protection of their areas, but we participated in the liberation of each of Tal Hamis, al-Shaddadi, al-Holl, Tal Berak."

The purpose of forming HPC

Al-Hussain stressed that the objective of forming the HPC is to protect the people, especially after liberating the areas from IS mercenaries, "Our main concern is to monitor the work of the terrorist cells of these gangs and to set up flying checkpoints at night on the outskirts of the villages and on the secondary roads."

HPC relied on Ocalan's ideas

Sheikhemos Ismail, the official spokesman for HPC in Tal Hmis district explained that IS mercenaries insulted the people and tried to separate them by various means and planted strife among the peoples of the area, the people of Rojava proved to the world that they are a living people and that they have managed to preserve their areas and harmony among themselves.

He added that any military institution has a special system, a financier and a military base. The HPC relied on the thinking of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the blood of the martyrs and managed to preserve the gains of the revolution and the property of the villages. He added, "anyone visiting the areas of Rojava sees security, stability and good living conditions thanks to these forces and strong organization."

Sheikhemos Ismail said that HPC took the commune as a basis for them, and they tried to organize themselves through the committees, councils and municipalities, and that the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan said in his arguments, "When I get out of prison I will choose the closest commune belonging to it, because it is the basis for society."

Shikmous appealed to immigrants from Syria to return to their homes, and said, Rojava has proved to the whole world that it is a unique experience in terms of the cohesion of the peoples’ fraternaty ."
