Kongra Star:  Omit Ajar’s sacrifice is part of resistance

Kongra Star’s coordination issued on Monday a statement to the public opinion mentioning the European Human Rights Court’s rejection of the case of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and the guerilla operation carried out by the Kurdish young man Omit Ajar in Germany.

The statement said:

“We condemn and denounce the decision of the European Court to reject the case of the leader Abdullah Ocalan regarding his being exposed to ill-treatment and violence, in addition to being denied of the right to meet his family and lawyers, and that is contrary to the human rights’ laws about the detainees.

We know that the Turkish state wants to impose its fascism through criminal acts that are far from the moral and human principles in Bakur Kurdistan by declaring the state of emergency, in which thousands of politicians, journalists and media professionals in addition to the parliamentarians and mayors were arrested.

On the other hand, its occupation of Afrin and violations against the civilians in addition to the attacks that target Qendil and other areas in Başûr without the conscience of the international community being stirred confirm that they are partners in all these crimes carried out by Erdogan against the Kurdish people and the peoples of the area. Erdogan’s last visit to Germany and his being received by the German government despite all the denunciations and publications that demanded the rejection of his visit, including the operation carried out by the Kurdish youth Omit Ajar as he set fire to his body to express his anger and rejection of this visit in addition to rejecting the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan is a good proof of that.

But since the elimination of the project of the democratic modernity is a joint venture among the capitalist forces, this meeting was held and the European Court's decision against the leader was issued to obstacle the development of the democratic project proposed by the leader in Imrali for the freedom and unity of the peoples and the democratization of the area.

We, as Kongra Star, offer our deepest condolences to the family of the martyr Omit Ajar and the Kurdish people, even though we know very well that the leader Abdullah Ocalan rejects such protests for us, but it is clear that the martyr Omit had a signification of such protest at this sensitive time, especially after Erdogan visited Germany.

This is a clear message to Germany, Europe and the International Human Rights Court as the twentieth anniversary of the arrest of the leader approaches and this self-sacrifice will become a part of the resistance that must not stop.

We appeal to the human rights organizations and the international community to act and play their humanitarian and emotional role. We also appeal to women to organize themselves to defeat injustice and achieve freedom and peace.”
