With an initiative of goodwill, SDF released 17 IS detainees

The detainees were released at the Public Relations Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in al-Hasakah canton in the al-Jazeera region in North Syria in the presence of notables of the Senate in al-Hasaka canton, representatives of the canton’s council, the families of detainees and commanders of SDF.

According to information obtained by Hawar news agency’s reporter, the release of these 17 elements from various areas of Syria who were arrested in various areas in the Syrian north at various times came after considering their situation and making sure that their hands were not stained with the Syrians’ blood.

“We are peaceful and democratic people on the principle of fraternity of peoples and co-existence. Our goal is always to protect our homeland from the enemies who try to undermine the security and stability we enjoy,” said Samar al-Abdullah, the co-chair of the al-Hasaka canton’s council.

Samar al-Abdullah explained that the released must start a new life with greater will and determination to create a free and dignified life.

The commander in SDF Shiyar Hasaka said, “Our motto is based on the principle of tolerance, the peoples’ fraternity and the humanity, and from this principle, we release these detainees.”

“We will continue our struggle liberating the areas controlled by terrorism. We are currently struggling in Hejin village of Deir ez-Zor, and this march will continue until our last breath,” Shiyar Hasaka continued.

Al-Sheikh Fawaz al-Zewbaa, the representative of the Senate in al-Hasaka canton thanked the initiative of SDF to release these detainees, and stressed that these people must learn from their experience to be active members in the society.

Then, the released pledged to not carry out practices that would harm the general security and the citizens, and to not join the terrorist gangs.

The detainees were then handed over to their families.
