Hundreds of Manbij people joined Self-Defense Duty

The Defense and Self Protection Committee in Manbij announced that hundreds of young people joined a military course of the Self-Defense Duty during a statement read on Saturday.

The statement was read by the co-chair of the Defense and Self-Protection Committee Qassem Remo in the presence of hundreds of joiners, commanders of Jaish al-Thuwar, the clans’ notables of the area and dozens of members of the Democratic Civil Administration of Manbij and its countryside.

The statement's text included,

"In the light of political and military developments on the regional arena in general and the Syrian arena in particular, the successive victories of Syria's Democratic Forces (SDF) on terrorism in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, the protection of the border from any threat against our people, and through our right of the legitimate defense of our people and the protection of our gains which we have achieved by the blood of our heroic martyrs and the democratic nation thought, we in the Self-Defense Committee continue to receive the honorable youths from all segments and components to join the Self-Defense Duty with the support of Manbij components and the civil and military institutions.

On this basis, we congratulate our people on joining hundreds of young people voluntarily to a military course of the Self-Defense to protect our country from any external or internal danger that threatens the security and gains of our people.

We pledge our people on this great day to follow the struggle until the last drop of blood to build a democratic society, in which justice, equality and peoples’ fraternity are prevailed."

After reading of the statement, the joiners of the course and the participants held al-Dabkah dance with the songs before joining the Self-Defense Duty course.
