Series of implemented projects, future plans developed by Economic Committee

Over the course of the year, the Economic Committee worked with all its institutions and directorates to promote the agricultural and animal sectors by carrying out many projects and works of rehabilitation and restoration and providing all forms of support for projects and investors in the area.

Where the Agriculture Directorate has presented support for the care of olive trees through several work of the pruning of 18,000 olive trees in addition to the fertilization of soil and feed with salts and organic materials needed to contribute to the improvement of the agricultural season.

For farmers receiving permits from the Agriculture Directorate, the Economic Committee in cooperation with the hydrocarbons committee supported them through the distribution of fuel oil for the operation of irrigation and watering engines in order to support the summer crops in particular.

"The committee is working to rehabilitate the infrastructure of the agricultural community building in al-Mansoura town in the eastern part of al-Tabqa to store fertilizers that will be secured as soon as maintenance is completed, and presented to the farmers for later submission during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

The agricultural works continue at the site of al-Grein the1 and 2 located in the western countryside of al-Tabqa city, where the pumping engines and irrigation channels were rehabilitated, the project floor was fully rehabilitated and services were 2500 trees of fruit palm were provided and still in seasonal production in addition of 3500 pistachio trees in the project.

As for the pumping stations located on al-Balikh Canal, which is part of the Euphrates dam to the east, which is the irrigation artery of the agricultural lands in the entire eastern and north-eastern countryside of al-Tabqa city. Sulaiman said: "The technical and mechanical workshops maintain the pump of al-Wedian which was completely destroyed by IS mercenaries

With regard to livestock, the Economic Committee has worked through the relevant offices of the Agriculture Directorate to rehabilitate Abu Qubea poultry site east of al-Tabqa city and is ready to invest in the near future to raise the meat chicken and achieve self-sufficiency in the area as part of a full rehabilitation project, the site was subjected to great destruction by IS mercenaries.

Future projects include the rehabilitation of Hnagar No. 2 at Abu Qubea poultry site, irrigation of al-Hammam irrigation project, the reopening of irrigation channels, tree trimming and soil fertilization, the opening of an agricultural pharmacy to secure pesticides and high quality agricultural medicines to avoid importing them from other sources for the safety of agricultural crops. "
