High tuberculosis cases, Health Organization promise to open center to reduce its spread

Rim Qarmo declared that the number of people infected with tuberculosis had been raised to 77 after 45, and the cause of malnutrition and mixing between the injured and the people, while the World Health Organization (WHO) agreed to open a joint center with the Red Crescent in al-Shahba area to reduce the spread of the disease.

The spokesperson of the public health coordinators in the areas of al-Shahba, Rim Qramo, the World Health Organization and all relief organizations called for immediate support to ensure the spread of the disease during an interview conducted by Hawar news agency on the causes of the spread of tuberculosis and the projects they submitted to the World Health Organization and their response and what is the measures they have taken in this regard.

"The number increased because of the dispersal and excessive mixing of the people with the people, and the interruption of the treatment they were getting in Afrin, and that is why their cases became critical," Rim Qarmo said, at the beginning of her talk that the number before the occupation of Afrin by the Turkish occupation was 45 injured, .

She pointed out that they held meetings with the World Health Organization and other organizations and explained to them the tragic situation inside the camps when they visited the medical points in the villages and camps in the areas of al-Shahba and told them about the danger of spreading the disease out of the area if they did not provide them with urgent assistance.

"After collecting the injured in two batches in Berxwedan camp, one of the doctors saw the condition of the injured and confirmed that they were infected with tuberculosis, Rim Qarmo added, some of the injuries are old and some of them were exposed to the people of Afrin in the areas of al-Shahba."

She pointed out that after the sending of samples by the Kurdish Red Crescent and the clinic of Fafin district, it was found that there was an improvement in the case of some patients as a result of receipt treatment quadrant and bilateral security of the Kurdish Red Crescent

The number of patients now in the areas of al-Shahba is 77, and it is now increasing, 95% of them are new cases and the remaining 5% are relapses.

The spokeswoman, Rim Qarmo, said that they are setting up a camp to isolate the patients with medical staff, medical supervision, competent staff of the team, which will be trained to supervise the doses of Dots for the patients and a supportive diet for those who are malnourished.
