William Robak: We to stay in Syria until defeating IS completely

Robak’s declaration came in a press conference in al-Shadadi district of al-Hasakah canton north of Syria after a meeting held with al-Shadadi Council on the how to help the liberated areas from IS mercenaries.

William Robak visited al-Shadadi on Saturday and held an almost one-hour meeting with the local council, in which the two sides discussed the most important developments witnessed in the area.

According to sources from within the meeting, the two sides focused on discussing a number of service matters for the liberated areas in preparation for the return of life to them after defeating IS mercenaries.

A fruitful meeting

The meeting was followed by a press conference, in which Robak said, "Our meeting with al-Shadadi Council was very fruitful. We discussed the challenges and problems witnessing in the area. We also addressed the main problems such as health, education, electricity and other problems that the citizens face. Our objective is to provide humanitarian assistance to the residents until security, stability and normal life would be restored and this is part of the objectives to defeat IS."

We will stay until IS would be defeated completely

Robak confirmed, "We are preparing for staying longer in Syria, as the President Donald Trump has made clear to ensure defeating IS completely, and we will remain focusing on the process of the withdrawal of the Iranian forces and their allies as well."

Robak said that they are very happy to help members of the International Alliance (in reference to SDF) in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

In her turn, the co-chair of al-Hasaka Canton Council Samar al-Abdullah appreciated the cooperation of the International Alliance for combating terrorism in the area, and expressed welcoming any initiative to combat terrorism and eradicate its effects, as well as helping the people of the area to overcome the ordeal they have endured over the past years.

Then, the delegation of the coalition, accompanied by representatives of al-Shadadi Council went to al-Deshisha town 30 km southeast of the area, and toured in its main market which was almost completely destroyed in the battles that took place in the town during the liberation battles initiated by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to liberate al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor from the last remnants of the IS mercenaries.

During the roaming ,representatives of al-Shadadi Council explained to William Robak the terrorist practices of IS mercenaries in the town, especially the roundabout of the town where the organization took it as a place to carry out field executions in front of the sight of the people to spread fear and terror in the hearts of the people.

It is worth mentioning that SDF liberated al-Deshisha town on 17 June of this year in the framework of the al-Jazeera Tempest campaign which was considered one of the main strongholds of IS mercenaries on the Iraqi-Syrian border.

At the end of the tour, the co-chair of al-Shadadi Council Hossam Ali told ANHA agency that the chief adviser to the International Alliance William Robak pledged to provide assistance in service field such as education, health, electricity, water and others to bring life back to the liberated areas and for the population to return to the area.
