Iraq condemned Turkish aggression on Şengal

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemned the aggression of the Turkish occupation planes on Şengal mountains, and demanded Turkey to  leave the Iraqi territories in which it is located, such as Basheiqa base.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemned on Friday the aerial bombardment by the Turkish occupation planes of civilian areas in Şengal  district (Sinjar) west of Nineveh province.

Ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said in a statement "The Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemns the Turkish air strikes on Sinjar areas within the civilian population the ministry rejects these attacks, and categorically denies any coordination between Baghdad and Ankara in this regard ".

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry renewed its "call on Turkey to leave its forces from the Iraqi territory in which it is located (Basheiqa base), considering its presence is contrary to international conventions and the principle of respect for mutual sovereignty."

It is noteworthy that The Turkish occupation planes bombed on August 15, civilians returning from the commemoration of the anniversary of the massacre committed by IS mercenaries against the people of Kuju village in Şengal district, in which the member of the coordination of the Yazidi community, Zeki Şengali martyred.
