MSD condemned Turkish aggression on Şengal

This came in a written statement issued by MSD on the recent Turkish aggression on August 15, Şengal Iraq district, and the statement said:

"Şengal was attacked by the Turkish occupation army, which targeted the Yazidi people by several air raids, which resulted in the death of a member of the Yazidi community coordinator Zeki Şengali, who was returning from the ceremony held on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the massacre of Kuju village.

We in MSD condemn this Turkish aggression on Şengal, which came within the framework of Erdogan's government's inhuman policy and facing the liberated peoples in the region.

This attack coincided with the fourth anniversary of the massacre in Kuju village, which threatened the lives of hundreds of civilians. Erdogan is working hard to preserve the legacy of these terrorist organizations to prevent the establishment of stability in the region.

Shelling Şengal is a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan region. We call on all forces to act and express their positions on the violations committed, to respect the will of Şengal people and to curb systematic campaigns of genocide against the Yazidi people.

From the position of our good relations with the Iraqi government and our cooperation in the war on terrorism, we call it to condemn and sinful attack on the Yazidi and Iraqi people in general so as not to be accused of partnership with this attack.

The international silence on these crimes committed by the Erdogan government against the Yazidi people, which reflect the denial of the rights of the people claiming their rights, prompts Erdogan to continue committing more crimes.

We therefore call upon the United Nations and international organizations to work hard to protect the Yazidi people from repeated crimes against them by Turkey and extremist organizations and to support their legitimate aspirations and rights."
