Double efforts of Ain Issa people to rebuild their district

Ain Issa district is related to Tel-Abyed / Girê Spî in the Euphrates region as the people of the Arab and Kurdish components have been living together for hundreds of years. Ain Issa area was occupied by IS in 2014, and because of the terrorist practices of the mercenaries, the people were forced to move to the areas of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA).

Ain Issa liberation 

After two years of occupying Ain Issa, the fighters of the People, Women Protection Units YPG, YPJ managed to liberate it from IS in the framework of the Martyred Commander Rubar Qamişlo campaign in June 2015.

After the liberation, the people of the district began to return to their homes and the return is still ongoing. In cooperation with Autonomous Administration in Tel-Abyed, the people began to establish service and security institutions. Thus, Ain Issa was turned into one of the safest places in northern Syria and it manages itself by itself.

The people are working in full swing to rebuild their homes.

Many of civilians’ houses were damaged during the domination of IS, and other houses were also destroyed due to battles broke out in the area.

The people who return to their homes are working in full swing to rebuild their demolished houses. In this context, dozens of block factories have been opened in Ain Issa district which work day and night to fill the need for the block material.

One neighborhood that is witnessing a major construction movement is al-Gharbi neighborhood. The people who are rebuilding their homes resort to buying cement and iron from Manbij city, and they sometimes buy the block from the city of Manbij because of the inability of the factories in Ain Issa to fill the growing demand.

Ismail Mohammed Zaido, who is rebuilding his home, explained that after the liberation of Ain Issa from IS mercenaries and returning security to the area, the people started to rebuild their homes.
