William Robak visited People's Municipality in al-Raqqa

Today, an American delegation of the former US Ambassador to Bahrain, William Robak, and leaders of the International Coalition visited the People's Municipality Center in al-Raqqa to discuss the service situation in al-Raqqa and to listen to the requirements of the People's Municipality in al-Raqqa.

The meeting began by talking about the conditions of the city and the extent of the destruction that inflicted the city's services and heavy and light machineries that help the municipality to do its work..

There were many questions from the delegation that were directed to the municipality. The main question was: Is it the responsibility of the municipality to remove the partially destroyed buildings that are not considered inhabitable?

The answer was made by the co-chair of al-Raqqa Civil Council, Abdul Hamid Al-Muhbash, who said, "Yes, removing of the partially destroyed buildings is on our shoulders and the Committee of Reconstruction, but we do not have the possibilities to carry out these work at the moment, but even if we do not have any support we will do this the work."

In conclusion, the American delegation thanked the People's Municipality for giving them a full picture of the situation in the city.

It is noteworthy that the People's Municipality was established in al-Raqqa on 2018/03/10, and since that date the People's Municipality has been serving the people of al-Raqqa and running their affairs in all fields.
