Reports on reconstruction of al-Raqqa delivered to US ambassador

William Robak, the former US ambassador to Bahrain and leaders of the International Alliance to fight IS, visited today al- Raqqa city to follow up the work of the Civil Council and discuss some of the difficulties facing the committees.

The meeting was held at the Civil Council in the presence of a number of members of the committees of the Civil Council (Reconstruction Committee, Health Committee, Education Committee, Energy Committee), the meeting which lasted more than two hours in which some of the obstacles to accelerate reconstruction were discussed and some ways of resolving them.

The Ambassador William Robak said in a statement to ANHA agency,"The purpose of our visit is to follow up the work of the Civil Council and to provide assistance to them and to all councils in the city. We are doing our best to provide services to the people of al-Raqqa and to provide humanitarian assistance.”

The Head of the Reconstruction Committee of al-Raqqa Civil Council Ibrahim al-Hassan explained the importance of the meeting, and said, "We have reported on the most important work that we have carried out and we are currently in al-Raqqa city, the most important of which are two bridges reach al-Raqqa  with its southern countryside, the formation of a team was discussed by the coalition to study the cost of completion of the two bridges.

Ibrahim al-Hassan noted that "Everything was discussed, including health, education, services and electricity. We prepared reports on the general situation and the reports were handed over to the ambassador."

At the end of the speech, Ibrahim al-Hassan stressed that the meeting was good, and was presented proposals and shortcomings that hinder the reconstruction process, and promised to provide more assistance for the reconstruction of the city.
