Four villages besieged in Sherawa

After the Turkish brutal aggression against Afrin city, committing massacres against its people and occupying it with the mercenary gangs after the resistance made by the People, Women protection Units (YPG,YPJ) and Afrin people which lasted for two months, four villages in Sherawa district have remained outside of the domination of the Turkish occupation, but they are suffering from a suffocating siege imposed by the Turkish occupation and its gangs in addition to the prevention of the entry of foodstuffs and basic needs into these villages.

Among the villages that have mostly suffered by the siege are Burj al-Qas, al-Zoq al-Kebîr, Kelote, Başemra in Sherawa district in Afrin canton as their people have remained in them in addition to receiving hundreds of families from other villages occupied by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries. The people of these villages have been depending since months on simple assistance which provided by the communes with autonomous potential which is being insured depending on the resources of the district.

In this context, the co-chair of the four villages’ council Abdul Fatah Hamo talked to Hawar news agency (ANHA) about the situation of the residents and their needs, and he said, "We provide assistance despite the lack of capabilities to the families who are residing in the four villages and those who displaced towards them during the occupation of Afrin.

Hamo pointed out that the number of the displaced families living in the four mentioned villages is 323 families who came from several occupied villages in Sherawa district.

Hamo concluded that the villagers need electricity as the council has allocated generators to these villages. However, because of the difficulty of securing fuel, they operate the generators only two hours every 24 hours because of the siege imposed on these villages.
