Patients are treated with bee stings in Qamishlo

The bee has great importance in the ecological balance and preserving nature, it also has a significant role in the success of agriculture. If bees are endangered for extinction, there will be a great risk to nature. Honey is used in the treatment of many diseases, and plays a substantial role in the flourishing of trade, thus the prosperity and development of society.

Beekeeping has declined in the past few years, raising concerns over existence of bees. So the beekeepers train some people on bee-keeping to prepare specialists in this area to raise bees and establish large projects for future beekeeping.

Director of bee hives at Naxmatî village located 6 km east of Qamishlo city Hamza Saied, 50 years old established bee apiary since a year and learns beekeeping from his friend Anas al-Arabi, a 50-year-old agricultural engineer

Anas al-Arabi from Deir ez-Zor city used to raise bees in Deir ez-Zor and after IS entered Deir ez-Zor city, he agreed with his friend Hamzah Saeed to transfer of hives to Qamishlo Anas and Hamza take care of 300 bee hives

Bee stings as a treatment

Hamza Saed and Anas al-Arabi treat patients by biting bees freely and say that they are doing this work to serve the people. In addition to the treatment of bee sting, they also treat patients with natural herbs. So far, they trained 12 people on how to raise bees and take care of it to benefit the community with its products and benefits of bees. Finishing the course, many trainees take to beekeeping. "The aim is to prepare specialists in this field who can raise bees and establish large projects for future beekeeping," said Hamza Saied.
