Revolutionary Guard launched maneuvers, protesters burnt Salman al-Farsi's Statue

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched on Sunday, August 5 extensive maneuvers in the waters of the Persian Gulf a few days ago.

The Revolutionary Guard’s spokesman Ramadan Sharif said, "Exercises have been conducted to control the safety of the waterways and to protect the program of the Revolutionary Guard’s annual calendar training." This is according to Fares Iranian agency.

Sharif added, "These maneuvers were conducted under the supervision of the Revolutionary Guard’s commander Mohammad Ali Jafari who stressed the need to maintain and strengthen the comprehensive defense to ensure strategic security of Hormuz Strait and the Persian Gulf, and to respond appropriately to the potential threats of the enemies."

The US officials told Reuters on Wednesday that the United States believes that Iran is preparing for major maneuvers in the Gulf in the coming days to bring foreword the annual training deadline amid escalating the tensions between Iran and Washington.

About the Iranian internal affairs, activists circulated on social media pictures showing the statue of the companion Salman al-Farsi at the entrance of Kazrun near one of the headquarters of Shiraz Protestant Movement while flames were devouring it.

The Iranian cities have witnessed widespread protests over the past few days on the deterioration of the economic situation in the country which is affected by the US sanctions imposed on the country because of its nuclear activities.
