KCD: Şengal massacre is biggest massacre against humanity in modern ages

The Democratic Society Conference issued a written statement in coincidence with the 4th anniversary of Şengal massacre.  The statement touched upon the oppression that the peoples and the religious minorities are exposed to in the world and the Middle East in particular at the hands of the dominant capitalist regimes. The statement added that oppression practiced against the Yazidi people in general and the Yazidi women in particular is considered the greatest crime against humanity in the recent ages.

The statement also talked about the situation of the displaced Yazidis who are residing in Bakur Kurdistan’s camps. It assured that the residents and the municipalities provided them with the needs of life, while the Development and Justice Party’s domination of the municipalities left the Yazidis facing great pressures as they have been offended and starved.

The statement added, “Our people, despite IS mercenaries’ terrorism and massacres, did not abandon resistance and continued defending their land, traditions and their hope of freedom,” noting that the Yazidis managed to dismiss IS from Şengal through their resistance and the participation of women.

 The statement also pointed out that the reactionary forces in the Middle East are still targeting Şengal with various ways.

The statement also pointed out that the fate of thousands of the Yazidi women who have been kidnapped by IS mercenaries is still anonymous, and it demanded the international and regional forces and the democratic institutions to work on liberating the Yazidi women.

The statement also included, “All of our people and their institutions must support the Yazidi people and struggle in all fields in order to protect the Yazidis from any other massacres. It is a historic and humanitarian responsibility.”

The Democratic Society Conference denounced in the conclusion of its statement the massacre committed by IS mercenaries against the Yazidis in Şengal, and assured its standing beside the Yazidis and their struggle for the sake of freedom.
