QAMIŞLO

The Diplomatic Relations Center of TEV-DEM held on Thursday its weekly press conference as the official spokesperson in the name of the center Kamal Akef read a statement included:

“Şengal massacre

Friday concurs with the anniversary of Şengal massacre, the massacre that was a real eradication against the Yazidi Kurdish people. In the fourth anniversary and the terrorist attack against Şengal people, we commemorate all the martyrs. We also salute the heroic resistance made by the People Protection Units (YPG) and Guerilla Forces to protect our people in Şengal.

We assure in this painful anniversary that the choice of the self-defense is the best way to prevent repeating what happened. Our people there must enjoy the self-management, and they must have a self-protection system. They also must be advocated to achieve that.

The situation in Afrin

The Turkish state still continues violations in Afrin. Everybody must realize that there is nothing called the Free Army in Afrin, rather, they are forces and mercenaries related to the Turkish state that are implementing the Turkish policy in Afrin.

The resistance is ongoing at its second stage. There is a determination to liberate Afrin by our people. We call for everyone to stand in solidarity to liberate it and support our people in resistance. Restoring Afrin is a strategic choice and would not be declined.

Astana Conference in Sochi

We reassure that the solution would not be achieved but with a Syrian-Syrian dialogue. There is a deep problem in Syria that requires the solution, and many issues that cause the crisis must be tackled. The countries must call on the solution in Syria through communicating with all the parties activated in Syria.

Meeting the regime

As TEV-DEM, we follow the obtained statements, and according to the information, there is not noticeable development. What happened was an initial visit to be familiar with what could be conducted. The visit, according to our information, was an initial step to express the intentions to accept the dialogue. Committees have been agreed on to prepare for the draft of the road’s map. The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) is an expansive cover of many troops, and the council represents a project for all the Syrians.

The Kurdish Cause may be solved within the general framework in which the Syrian Democratic Council moves as a solution for all the issues concerning the Syrians. In case a negotiation held with the regime, it would be, in our opinion, through the discussion with all the concerned parties.

The matter of the Syrian refugees

Talking about the matter of sending back the Syrian refugees to Syria has increased in the recent times. We see that the restoration of the refugees must be the restoration to their homes and areas, and to not be a political investment means. Furthermore, the goals of some parties to achieve the demographic change must be prevented under the item of the restoration.”
