Ziad Watfa: project of foreign opposition failed  , stage needs meeting to unify row

During an interview conducted by Hawar agency with a member of the Political Office of the National Coordinating Body opposition Ziad Watfa on the latest developments on the Syrian arena and their participation in the third conference of MSD and the Syrian-Syrian dialogue.

Watfa said ,"The Syrian scene can be summed up with important events, especially the restoration of the regime of many areas that were outside its control in the previous period, including al-Ghouta which represents the perimeter of the capital, including the south, which represents Daraa, while the areas entered several scenes, the first is restoring many areas by the regime, the second scene is the external collusion with the Turkish state to occupy part of the north-west of Syria, specifically Afrin and to reach the outskirts of Manbij city, the third scene is the blockage of the horizon of foreign political solutions that were embodied earlier in the so-called Geneva or Astana or the course of Sochi and other meetings to resolve the Syrian crisis abroad."

Watfa said that the Sochi conference is now in the case of intensive care some external parties are trying to save it, he pointed out that all the national opposition which has a democratic vision based on maintaining one Syria and preventing or rejecting foreign interference in Syria and its belief in the political solution to build a secular, decentralized democratic state, This force has a necessary task is the task of consolidating and provide a vision of negotiations and agreeing on the future of Syria."

Ziad stressed that it is the duty of the Syrian opposition force at home to attend dialogues with the opposition forces present in the area which believes in common directions in order to agree on a vision of negotiation and vision for the future of Syria "We hope that the meeting will deepen to include everyone without marginalizing one of the other parties represented by the Syrian opposition."

On the importance of discussion and holding dialogues, Ziad said: There must be a force representing the Syrian people in full negotiations with the Syrian regime. When forming a large pole of the Syrian opposition, the regime will be unable to ignore it as a representative of minorities and areas on time, for a new democratic Syria."

He noted that the foreign opposition working in Istanbul and other countries did not and will not represent the Syrian people one day, saying that these parties were imposed on them by external forces that have nothing to do with their agendas and projects or with the project of national change in Syria. The external forces and their opposition carried a termination project linked to external agendas embodied in the political discourse of the coalition or some military factions.

Ziad pointed out that the foreign opposition project has failed and therefore it is important to hold meeting to unify the efforts of the national democratic opposition.

Ziad concluded the failure of the Riyadh conference because of the absence of the Syrian Democratic Council and now holding of any conference that lacks political power is incomplete, we will not allow the existence of a force associated with the Gulf or the Turkish occupation, there is a large political force in Syria must attend this dialogue and must come through dialogue to a joint program agreed to negotiate and ,make change."
