Zinar Qendîl....... Martyr of revolution of freedom

Today we are talking about the revolutionary fighter, the revolutionary youth and the martyr of the People Protection Units YPG. Xezwan Zeyîm Ahmed whose nom de guerre is Zinar Qandil , who opened his eyes on life on January 5, 1988 in Bahriya village belonging to Tirbespiyê in al-Jazzera region .     

His family was a poor he was the third child in a family of three sisters and three siblings along with the father and mother

Zanar completed primary education at his village school, and the rest of the preparatory and secondary levels were completed in Qamishlo city 's schools .He was known for his brilliance and excellence in the study, and his dealings with his colleagues at the time were distinctive by a quiet approach, and he always helped everyone who needed help according to his abilities

His comrades whose names are Bahrak Abdulrahman and Yasir, Sarokeen that accompanied him on the study trip during the middle and high school years, Bahrak said when he was with his comrade Zanar: "The link of love that was gathering us was not normal, we were not just friends, our spirit was a twin the wonderful thing he had was sharing all that he had with his comrades, which I liked very much. "

Poverty had forced him to abandon his study

He had moved away from study because of the difficult material situation of his family, since his father could not cover his needs to go to school. Because he saw the status of the family, he decided to abandon the study without the family's knowledge. He begins work to support his family in Qamishlo city 's markets  as a porter.

After reaching the stage where he was obliged to go to the compulsory service of the Baathist regime, he was forced to leave the job and perform the service, which was supposed to be two and a half years, but because of his national positions towards the Kurdish people and accusing him of membership of the PKK, In the Syrian capital Damascus. After finishing his service, he returned to help his family financially and began to do his old work.

His mother, Suad Ali, says that when he returned from work, he gave what he had earned before he washed his face or ate food. "Even though Zinar has two older siblings, everyone said that your eldest son was Zinar .When he brought the money he earned, he said to me, "Be happy now, my mother my sisters should not need anything give them the money they need. "So Zinar was not like any ordinary young man."

Joining to the People Protection Units YPG

After liberating of Rojava from the Ba'athist regime forces, and with launching of mercenary gangs (Jabhit al-Nusra and so-called itself  FreeArmy), they had launched frequent attacks against of Rojava . Zinar was one of the first youth to stand alongside the People Protection Units YPG until he decided to join the units in 21 April 2013 is a group of comrades.

After training, Zinar takes part in repelling the mercenary attacks on Gel –Agha but he gets injured in one of the battles in Safa village two of his comrades were martyred in the same resistance, which  increasesed motive to avenge to his comrades .

Despite his injury, Zinar did not want to stay in his bed and returned to the struggle after 25 days. He did not want to tell his family about his injury and returned to the fighting fronts even though his wounds had not yet healed.

On the path of martyrdom

After returning from injury, the mercenary attacks on Serêkaniyê were increased. so he went to Serêkaniyê  and participated in the liberation campaigns of its villages.

Zinar heads after participating in Serêkaniyê campaign to al-Hasakah city and Tel- Temer and participates in the campaign to open the road between the two cities. He also participates in the resistance of Tel Hamis and Tel- Berak. However, these battles did not pass peacefully. His comrade Mohieddin Syed Taha (January 7, 2014) was martyred.

The fighter in PeopleProtection Units YPG Şevger Hîmo, who was a member of a training regiment said "Zinar was a hero and a fighter, he was a fighter in the war and he never backed down and always did everything to protect his comrades."

Mercenaries 's attacks had increased in Serêkaniyê area this forced Zinar and his comrades to join the resistance to defend against Serêkaniyê 's attacks , but these battles were his last battles. He was martyred in al-Rawya village on April 28, 2014. The location of Zinar 's corpse was not known  where had announced martyrdom during a ceremony held at the martyr 's shrine of Delîl Serokeen in Qamishlo city on the 31st of the same month.
