Massive meeting held in Dêrik

On Saturday morning, the activities of the extensive introductory meeting which is organized by the Society and Beliefs Committee in northern Syria began, and dozens of clerics from Dêrik and its districts, as well as representatives of civil society organizations and guests from northern Syria participated in the meeting.

The meeting that is held at Aram Tikran Center for Culture and Art in Rumailan  town under the slogan, "Democratic Islam is the Cornerstone of Morality Promotion" began with holding a minute of silence and the formation of the meeting’s divan.

The expanded meeting started with delivering an opening speech by the member of the preparatory committee Mazen Harouni who welcomed the audience and praised the importance of the meeting paving the way for holding an expanded conference in the coming period.

Then, the message sent by the Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Ocalan to the Democratic Islam Conference that was held in 2014 in Amed city was read.

The works of the meeting continued according to the outline which includes a series of lectures about what the democratic Islam is, the most important female figures in the Islamic history, Islam and ethics, and councils in Islam and its importance.

The expanded meeting continues with presenting the lectures listed in the outline, after which the participants' questions are scheduled to be received and answered.

According to the preparatory committee, similar preparatory meetings will be held in a number of cities in northern Syria paving the way for holding a conference in northern Syria in the coming period.
