8 Turkish soldiers killed in Gever

Eight members of the Turkish army were killed during a special operation carried out by the Popular Defense Forces’ (HPG) fighters in Gever district in Colemêrg. The fighters also wrecked a military helicopter in Bedlîs.

HPG said in a statement that their forces carried out on June 25 an operation against units of the Turkish army at Martyr Hozan hill in Gever area in Colemêrg, the operation that targeted the positions of the Turkish army from two axes resulted in killing 8 soldiers and wounding 4 others.

On 26 June, the forces targeted a Sikorsky helicopter which was moving from Sêrt to Şex district in Wan. The operation resulted in wrecking the helicopter, and that forced it to withdraw.

In a statement issued by the Popular Defense Forces, on June 25, the Women's Freedom Units-Star carried out a military operation against the Turkish army forces at a site between the districts of Şex Cûma and Katil in Bedlîs. The operation resulted in killing of the Turkish army’s elements and wounding 2 others.

While the Turkish army landed its forces through helicopters, and launched a military operation and shelled the area until the end of that day.

The statement also confirmed that the Turkish army’s warplanes bombed on June 26 the Martyr Xeiri area related to Zeb area.
