Before Eid al-Fitr holiday, the municipality completed many streets, and the municipality's machineries are currently working on paving the eastern neighborhood of Botan because of its roads have been completely damaged.

It is noteworthy that Botan Sharqi neighborhood was exposed in mid-June, floods after heavy rains in Kobani city which led to submerging the neighborhood and many houses with water.

Botan Sharqi neighborhood will be entirely asphalted with a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters from the mound of asphalt, passing through 24 on Aleppo Road and al-Makatab Street.

The municipality workers are working from 8:00 am to 19:00 pm, to extend between 100 and 150 cubic meters per day.

The Co-chair of Kobani neighborhood council Saleh Kurdi said, “All the works of asphalt are now in the neighborhoods of Kobani and no road is paved outside the city."

He explained that the municipality has commissioned two workshops to complete the work of the asphalt.

Due to great damage of roads in the city, the municipality faces difficulties in carrying out the work. "We need a peeling machine that will dig the old asphalt, as in the girls' school street, Mustafa Darwish station road leading to Halinj village, as well as the way to Jarablus city arriving to al-Shyoukh town, "noting that they will be beginning to asphalt the road if peeling machines were available."

In addition, one of the streets in the east of the post was greatly damaged. It needed asphalt and an extension of a sewerage system. According to the vice of Co-chair, the project would be studied to develop a sewage network and then asphalt the street.

People’s Municipality Council depends on the project of asphalt and patching on the budget of the Municipal Council, as confirmed by Saleh al-Kurdi.
