MSD congratulated HDP's victory

The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) congratulated the Democratic Peoples’ Party (HDP) for its victory for entering the parliament saying, "We are confident that you will change Turkey's history towards democracy, social justice and the rights of all peoples."

MSD issued a statement congratulating HDP in Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey for winning the elections and entering the parliament despite all the pressures and harassment, and the text of the statement included:

"To the HDP, we, from the spirit of resistance of the people of North Syria and of all the components; Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and Assyrians in the free Syria, congratulate your victory in the elections and achieving your percentage to be represented as a party in the parliament.

This victory is a victory of Rojava, the people of North Syria, and the martyrs’ blood that spilled in the squares of Amed and other Turkish areas, and it is a culmination of the victories of Kobanî, Afrin and al-Jazeera, and the gains made in Rojava and North Syria.

Since years, the Kurdish people in North Kurdistan are struggling with all the power of the community to eliminate the authoritarian and oppressive mentality.

The philosophy of Justice and Development led by Erdogan which wanted to undermine the will of the democratic people launched attacks and aggression on the Syrian and Iraqi areas to escape from the internal problems sometimes and to intimidate peoples in Turkey at other times.

This victory will push Turkey and Kurdistan towards a new stage in which the democratic values can be strengthened and the Kurdish people's aspirations for freedom and dignity would come true.

The elections took place amid pressures and obstacles that were especially exerted against HDP as the members of the party were subjected to brutal attacks and arbitrary arrests, including the party's candidate Demirtash, but this did not hinder the will of the people in Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey who assured their determination to triumph peace, democracy and justice against hegemony, injustice and domination.

Once again, we congratulate your victory and your entry into the Turkish Parliament. We are confident that you will change Turkey's history towards democracy, social justice and the rights of all the Turkish people.
