Celebration in Girê Sipî on 3rd anniversary of city liberation

Hundreds of Girê Spî people / Tal Abyed people and its two districts, Ain Issa and Suluk, gathered in in Girê Spî City Council’s Square which was decorated with pictures of martyrs, flags of the People's and Women's Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces, to participate in the celebration of the anniversary of liberation.

The celebration was attended by Democratic Autonomous Administration delegation in Girê Sipî canton, with the participation of hundreds of Girê Spî people.

The ceremony began with holding a minute of silence, followed by delivering number of speeches, including the speech of the co-chair presidency of Girê Spî Canton Council Khalil Abed al-Karim, who said "On the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of Girê Spî liberation we salute the forces that contributed to the liberation of the city, we affirm that with the will and solidarity of our peoples and the free will of women, we have achieved great victories and defeated IS mercenaries. "

For his part, the commander of the People's Protection Units (YPG) Abu Mazloum said: "We will not hand over any part of land liberated by the blood of our martyrs and the wounded, and we will continue fighting and struggling against IS and its supporters until liberation of all our areas and our people from the occupiers and terrorists."

A member of the Future Syria Party, Kadim Ibrahim also delivered a speech and said ,"We congratulate Girê Sipî people on liberating the by the People's and Women's Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) from the fiercest and most dangerous international terrorism that the world has been unable to fight it."

The ceremony concluded by holding al-Dabka on the impact of the martyr Martine Ronahi Band's songs.
