1st medical waste burner in al-Jazeera region established

Medical waste burner is the first of its kind in al-Jazeera canton, and works on the destruction of medical materials such as drugs, expired injections and medical waste discharged from hospitals, "the remnants of surgical operations and the their used tools and others.

Completion of the project in Dêrik city

The first medical burner opened on Tuesday in Dêrik in cooperation with the Health Directorate of the Health Body in the Democratic Autonomous Administrations and one of the humanitarian organizations working in the city.

The opening ceremony was attended by the co-chair of the Health Body in al-Jazeera region Abeer Hassaf, the joint presidency of Dêrik Health Directorate, the members of the hospital and the medical staff at the Martyr Hoger Hospital and representatives of the Martyrs' Families Council.

The mechanism of waste burner work

The project consists of four sections; members hole, weaving, glass crusher, incineration chamber, ash hole and incineration residue.

According to Rojin Ahmed, the co-chair of the Health Directorate in Dêrik city, the global methods used for the disposal of the medical waste are incineration, chemical disinfection, wet heat treatment, steam sterilization, short wave radiation, waste disposal and waste stabilization.
