US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong un are putting their preparations on the day before of their historic summit on Monday as officials sought to bring their views closer to North Korea's nuclear arsenal.

Trump said at a summit of the Group of Seven which has seen intense tension with his country's allies over his refusal to approve the final statement. "I am happy because there is enthusiastic in Singapore about the atmosphere"

Trump said during a working meeting at a luncheon with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong "I think things will be done very well."

The summit, which is emerging on the international scene, the leader of a highly closed regime whose movements outside his country on one hand are a major concession by the United States.

The discussions should focus on Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions, which are subject to tough international sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council over the years and crises.

A senior US official said in this sentence "a message of optimism." But the US demand has been focused for years on the intransigent North Korean stance.

However, the terms of a possible agreement are the same as before: gradual disarmament of nuclear weapons in return for economic support and security guarantees for the isolated regime and a peace treaty formally ending the Korean War (1950-1953).
