Iraqi journalist: Parliament cannot intervene in elections

The crisis in the Iraqi political process continues after the announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections, in which the alliance of Saeron led by al-Saderi Movement got a parliamentary majority resulted in the start of the recent talks with the Iraqi parties and regional and international states to form the next government as some monitored reaching al-Sader massages toIran and the Arab States. In this context, Hawar news agency communicated with the Iraqi journalist Jamal al-Baghdadi to talk about the next stage and held an interview with him.

The text of the interview was as follows:

* The Parliament took the decision to cancel the results of the elections in several polling stations and a manual screening. How it affects the winning blocks. Can this change the election results?

Regardless of whether this changes or not, I believe that the Parliament does not have the right to make decisions regarding elections. Elections belong to the Electoral Commission. I do not think there is a constitutional clause that provides for the right of Parliament to do so. The open session of the parliament is in itself a manipulation of people's feelings and this may be a serious issue because there are losers in the elections, perhaps it is a conspiracy or knitting on a dark night of the Parliament and the parties that failed in the elections to practice some violations and pass some things to try to return to the Parliament.

* Who is the candidate of al-Sader bloc to the presidency of the government, and how will the government's policy to face internal security and economic crises and rampant corruption?

It is an early question, but I believe that the alliance of Saeron seeks to be the Prime Minister that would work to resolve all crises and eliminate the file of corruption and access to economic well-being and social justice. All of these goals are in the alliance’s scheme. The Iraqi people have got tired and must put the next Prime Minister in their calculations and put this people in the right track in terms of services, education, health, electricity, security and economic stability and the elimination of unemployment. These are all the conditions of an alliance going to the prime minister. Those who can meet these conditions and enjoy these qualities will be the focus of respect for this alliance and support for the position of Prime Minister.

How the policy of the Baghdad government would be towards the Region?

I think that the brothers Kurds in the Region have a lot of rights constitutionally established, the alliance of Saeron deals with this situation and supports every step towards the Region contribute to the achievement of their legitimate rights without competition and draw and without tension and attraction.

Today, we are in an alliance that believes that the Region is a fundamental pillar in the Iraqi component and their rights are enshrined in the constitution and should not fulfill their rights by the Iraqi government and the Kurdish leaders in the Region because this is the right of a people and not the right of political figures regardless of these personalities and their struggle and their old parties. It must be taken into account by the next government.
