Activists demanded Region’s parliament to hold meeting against Turkish invasion

The Struggle Front against the Turkish Invasion in Başûr Kurdistan organized a press conference in front of the building of Kurdistan Region’s Parliament Office in al-Suleimaniya city.

The member of the Struggle Front against Turkish Invasion Avan Jamal read, during the press conference, a statement that included, “We demand the Parliament of Kurdistan Region to hold a special session about the Turkish occupation of Kurdistan Region’s territories, we also demand it to show its attitude, and report the public opinion about the resentment of the people of Kurdistan Region in addition to issuing a decision to get the Turkish occupation out of Başûr Kurdistan.” 

The statement also demanded the Parliament of Kurdistan Region to implement the decision no.37 taken in 2003 and relayed to get the Turkish troops out of Kurdistan Region, and demanded the Iraqi Parliament to review the agreement signed in 1978 and 1984 between the Baathist regime and the Turkish state that allow the Turkish state to get though Iraq’s territories.

Goran Movement MP Şêrko Heme Emîn said, "We believe that the demand posed to the Parliament by the Struggle Front against Turkish Invasion is important, and we will study it. The Parliament needs to hold for an urgent meeting and take decisions on the matter because we are not pleased with the Turkish state’s invasion of Başûr (South Kurdistan) territories. The presence of the Turkish and Iranian military forces in Kurdistan Region is not legal.”
