Women’s Council creates solutions out of severe suffering

For nearly four months, the Women's House in al-Tuwahina camp has been established seeking from the Women's Council in al-Tabqa and al-Jarniah to liberate the displaced women from the harsh conditions and ease their daily lives in a camp full of tragedies.

The Women's House is a small tent with 10 women inside the camp to educate the women in the camp in the proper and correct manner.

In an interview with ANHA, the management of the Women's House in al-Tuwahina camp, Siham al-Hassan al-Shawakh, to know the work and outlines of the house, she said: "We help the women in the camp morally as facilitating their daily affairs and facilitate the receipt of food baskets to provide comfort as much as possible, to avoid the women facing any problem inside the camp, as for the material aspect we are working to provide jobs within the camp for each woman according to the possibilities and encourage them to be independent economically. "

On the work of the reconciliation committee in the House, Siham pointed out that "we have resolved more than 100 cases of disagreement between spouses and families, including differences reached the divorce degree through the satisfaction of the two parties and find appropriate solutions.

Among the projects that will support the economic independence of women is the opening of a sewing workshop, according to Siham. "We will open a sewing workshop inside the camp with the support of the Women's Council in al-Tabqa and al-Jarniah, that will help displaced women improve their living conditions."

The sewing workshop project is a tent consisting of a number of machines, which will take about a month to ensure all the requirements.
