Afrin residents protested against Turkish violations

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Afrin city witnessed, during the past 24 hours, 2 demonstrations as dozens of residents of the city protested in two separate demonstrations against the practices and violations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against the people.

The first demonstration took place on Sunday at Azadî Square in the center of Afrin city, in which the residents demanded the release of a media activist and the kidnapped from the canton who were kidnapped by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, amid calling to go out in other demonstrations if the fate of the abducted would not be revealed and released.

In the same context, the second demonstration which included dozens of residents of the city took place in al-Mahmudiya neighborhood in the northern part of the city, in which the residents called to put an end to the violations of the mercenary factions and elements of the Turkish occupation army in the city which are repeated daily and at a high pace as there is nobody to hold the mercenaries who are looting the properties of citizens and insulting them accountable.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the second demonstration in the neighborhood of al-Mahmudiya came after the attack of the mercenaries of al-Hamzah Division against one of the owners of generators in the city, in addition to beating and insulting him.

On the other hand, the mercenary factions of the Turkish occupation imposed taxes on the canton’s people, and they continue looting the citizens' properties, in addition to stealing their agricultural crops, and setting fire to the agricultural crops for the people who refuse to pay taxes to them.

The network of Afrin activists published a video on social media showing the Turkish combine harvesters heading to the planted lands at the western entrance of Afrin.

Last May, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries kidnapped more than 3,295 civilians from Afrin canton and imposed on the families who wanted to return to their homes to pay huge sums of money in addition to abducting the civilians almost daily under the pretext of false pretenses.
