Turkish Ambassador to Qatar Fikret Ozer said in a press statement on Friday that the recent decline in the Turkish lira "is a manipulation by two Arabic countries.

Ozar, who did not specify the two Arabic states, said that they aim to "destabilize the Turkish economy by playing on the dollar, which will lead to higher prices in the internal market and thus affect the purchasing power of consumers and the confusion of the Turkish interior."

The Turkish currency has witnessed a sharp decline in recent months, record levels, and lost about a third of its value, affected by the rise of the US currency and concerns about the ability of the Central Bank of Turkey to curb inflation in the country.
