Steps towards the development of al-Jazeea 's ecosystem

The Reverses Protection Department in al-Jazeera had announced in 2014 Hayeka belonging to Deirk area nature reserve, in a move to preserve the nature reserves in the area that were neglected in the time of the Baathist regime.

The protection of nature and the development of the ecosystem are among the most important pillars of Democratic Autonomous Administration , according to the Charter of the Social Contract, which was established in 2014 in North Syria according to the principles of the democratic nation.

In this context, the Department of Protected belonging to Directorate of Environment in al-Jazeera region announced a project to rehabilitate Maheshouk dam reserve in early March this year, as second nature reserve in Tirbê Sipî district after Mazkaft dam reserve and the third in al-Jazeera.

In 2015, the Department of Protected was considered a Mazkaft dam in the eastern part of Tirbe sipi city, which is considered a nature reserve, in which 7,000 trees were planted.

As the administration worked on the implementation of the rehabilitation project of Maheshouk dam, which was built on the Jarah river that flows from Bakur Kurdistan. About 700 forest and fruitful trees were planted on the bank of the dam, to be the second nature reserve in the district.

The Administrator of the Reverses Protection Department belonging to the Directorate of Environment in al-Jazeera region Luqman Badr, they are going to make protected and decorated parks tourist attractions for the people to entertain themselves at the times of trips.

Similar future projects

On the importance of these projects, the Administrator of the Reverses Protection Department, Luqman Badr, said that "they are part of the steps they take to preserve water, soil and wild animals in the area and to protect the environment for the benefit of trees especially fruit trees, to benefit from the biodiversity of insects that contribute to the pollination of flowering of fruits.

As for the future projects in the area, Badr pointed out that they are announcing Kihel Hasnak village as a natural reserve, because of Jarah area’s natural importance and richness of water.

Badr said that "the Turkish threats to bordering areas have hampered the announcement of the project so far, which is within their plan for next year."
