Internal system of Self-Defense Duty ratified in al-Raqqa

The Executive and Legislative Councils and the co-chairs of the Self-Defense Committee of al-Raqqa Civil Council held on Monday a meeting to ratify on the internal system of the Self-Defense Duty in al- Raqqa city.

The sheikhs and notables of clans in the area attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the co-chair of the Legislative Council Khaled Barkal stressed the necessity and importance of Self-Defense Duty in the area and the responsibilities of young people in protecting the security of their city after defeating IS mercenaries.

After that, a member of the Self-Defense Committee Ali Qader read the internal system in front of the audience, and then the door opened for questions and discussions before the audience.

The questions were about how to join the Self-Defense Duty and whether there are exemptions from the Defense Duty!! After extensive discussions took place among the audience, the majority of the audience ratified on the internal system through direct voting.

It is scheduled that the law of Self-Defense Duty would be ratified on at another meeting that would be held this month to be active.

It is noteworthy that the Self-Defense Committee will begin to equip its offices starting from Monday to be ready within a week.
