Al-Amal workshop revives al-Tabqa women’s self-sufficiency hopes

Al-Amal workshop related to Women’s Council in al-Tabqa city have initiated its first works aiming to create job opportunities and achieve self-sufficiency for women.

Al-Amal workshop initially includes 10 different embroidery and sewing machines where the Women’s Council in al-Tabqa is supplying fabric and other sewing requirements for the workshop.

Ten female workers were chosen to work in making office furniture and other leather furniture where the first batch was produced in the context of women’s self-sufficiency that the Women’s Council is following.

One of the workers Mariam al-Awad expressed her joy to begin work saying “I am very glad to begin working in this workshop, I believe it is a sweet dream that I do not wish to wake up.”

Mariam also helps her comrades happily as she engages in her work, since she is depending on herself.”

It is noteworthy that Women’s Council in al-Tabqa continues its works in expanding women and children projects, especially opening a kindergarten where children of the trainees and working mothers will be embraced in during working hours.
