5 IS commanders arrested within al-Jazeera Tempest

Within the final stage of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign that was launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, it has been announced that 5 officials in the ranks of IS commands have been arrested during a special operation held between SDF and the Iraqi Forces.

The spokesperson on behalf of the international alliance led by the American United States Ryan Dillon announced in a statement that in the result of the operations carried out by SDF and the Iraqi forces, 5 IS officials have been arrested.

It has been clear that 4 of the mercenaries who have been detained in Deir ez-Zor are from Iraqi origins, and the other is Syrian.

Dillon made it clear that those mercenaries have been arrested in a joint special operation of SDF and the Iraqi forces.

Dillon assured that arresting those mercenaries dealt IS a harsh blow, and that indicates that there is coordination between SDF and the Iraqi Forces to fight IS.

The last stage of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign started on May 1, and it aims at liberating the eastern part of Deir ez-Zor and the Iraqi borders from IS mercenaries completely. Furthermore, since the beginning of this stage, the fighters have progressed 20 kilometers forward.
