European activists visit Women village to be introduced to it

To support the Resistance of the Age and to participate in Kongra Star's campaign which was launched under the slogan, "Women, Revolt for Afrin", a delegation of European women activists in the field of civil society and women's rights visited Rojava on Tuesday.

The delegation included the photographer Maryam Ashraf, the member of the Scottish Association Sarah Jane, the film director Kirkox Kent, the member of the European Parliament for northwest Britain and the member of Women's Rights Committee Julia Ward, the activist lawyer in the field of Human Rights in Ireland Wendy Leon, the lawyer in Criminal Defense / General Civil Law Onn Plain, Victoria Bridge.

As part of its program, the delegation visited on Tuesday the Democratic Syrian Council's Office in al-Dirbasiyah district and they were received by the co-chair of Democratic Syrian Council Elham Ahmed, and the Office’s members.

There were discussions about the situation of Afrin and the attacks of the Turkish occupation state and the demographic change that is taking place. There were also discussions about how the Democratic Syrian Office worked, and the work of the office was explained in detail; its objectives, departments, committees and projects.

They also touched upon the role played by the women in Rojava Revolution, while the delegation expressed its pleasure to visit Rojava and to see the reality with their eyes.

The delegation then went to the Women's village to get to know them closely and to know the system that the women would run in the village.

Furthermore, the delegation is scheduled to complete its tour by visiting the Democratic Society Movement Center (TEV-DEM) in Qamişlo city.
